The World of Startups
Welcome to The World of Startups by me, Yash Purohit. I'm a Freshman at UC Berkeley studying Economics. I am very interested in Entrepreneurship and that will be the focus of my newsletters.
Startups remain a fascinating subset in the business world. Arguably the most innovative, disruptive, and interesting ideas arise not from large industry conglomerates, but rather grow from mere ideas. The startup ecosystem continues to grow and has come a long way. No longer do people require large capital, years of industry experience, and an exhaustive team to achieve growth and success. The thriving market of startups continues to grow and disruptive technology continues to upset many industry incumbents. Startups may be young, but they certainly are the future.
This newsletter aims to discuss all things startups. From finding top marketing case studies to time capsules into the beginning years of household names, from discussing potential unicorns to incredible entrepreneurs, this biweekly newsletter will cover virtually every aspect of the most exciting topic in entrepreneurship.
So, you might wonder, who am I? Why have I started this newsletter? What credibility may I have? The straight answer is nobody significant, curiosity, and none respectively. My name is Yash and I am a college freshman; however, if I were to introduce myself, the first thing that comes to mind is ‘avid entrepreneur’. Now, I possess nothing more tangible than a few Coursera courses to give me that title but I have been heavily engrossed in the ecosystem for roughly 3 years now. At first, it was by carrying a notebook around and jotting down ideas on potential startups to currently working on a few myself. Therefore the main reason I want to develop this newsletter is to further dive into the world of entrepreneurship.
The startup industry is growing each day with tens of millions of registered startups each year. It is among the fastest growing subset of business. So I encourage you to tune into this biweekly newsletter, should startups, growth, and looking at new, innovative, and disruptive technologies interest you.
